The Maharashtra state cabinet, led by Chief Minister Eknath Shinde alongside Deputy Chief Ministers Devendra Fadnavis and Ajit Pawar, recently convened at Mantralaya. This meeting’s output was five very important decisions aiming at improving the lives of people living in Mumbai and across Maharastra. Let’s see the five big decision in detal.

Housing Facility In Dharavi

A new initiative by the Maharastra government aims to give affordable rental housing for people who live in slums in Dharavi who do not currently come under any existing assistance programs. Also, the cabinet has appointed schemes for the redevelopment of Dharavi, big move from the government to improve the condition of people living there.

Tunnel Project

The cabinet has also ordered for the immediate construction of an underground road connecting Orange Gate to Marine Drive. Metro Project

B to B Tunnel

The cabinet has given budget of ₹15,000 crore for the development of an underground road linking Thane to Borivali. This new infrastructure will help to travel smoothly across Mumbai, providing significant benefits to daily workers who travel daily.

Slum Rehabilitation

The government plans will improve slum rehabilitation works in Ramabai Ambedkar Nagar and Kamaraj Nagar. The MMRDA will receive concessions for land payments, fully focused on enhancing living conditions for residents here.

Extra Initiatives To Be Noted

Also for improving living standards in Mumbai, the Maharashtra cabinet introduced many important initiatives that will benefit people in the state. Village employment workers will receive monthly payments of ₹8,000, with incentive. A new cattle subsidy scheme will support the care and maintenance of regional cattle. To enhance water resource planning, a Water Resources Information Centre will be established. The Bhagpur Lift Irrigation Scheme in Jalna will now benefit 30,000 hectares of land. Also, the limit which was set earlier for retirement and death benefits has been increased to ₹20 lakh.

New rules for the agricultural self-sufficiency scheme will help more Scheduled Castes and Neo-Buddhist farmers. Home guard payments will increase, helping about 40,000 personnel. There is also a new policy for military schools, and a program will raise awareness about organ donation and transplantation.
